Shein Valued at US$26.3 Billion in Hong Kong Market Debut
Shein's stock debuted in Hong Kong amid a challenging market, showing fluctuations after raising US$1.7 billion.

Shein Global Holdings made its debut on the Hong Kong market on Tuesday, with a valuation set at US$26.3 billion. The company raised HK$13.6 billion (approximately US$1.7 billion) through its listing, which faced prior regulatory scrutiny that delayed its initial plans for public offerings in New York and London.
Upon opening, the shares were priced at HK$48.56 but quickly lost ground, dropping by as much as 10 percent to HK$43.72 during the trading session. The stock later recovered partially, trading at HK$46.62 at the midday break.
The listing ceremony was attended by Shein founder Sky Xu Yangtian, who chose to maintain a low profile and did not make any public speeches.

Despite the initial drop in share price, the trading performance reflects ongoing scrutiny and mixed market sentiments regarding Shein's business model and future prospects. This follows a period of uncertainty surrounding the company’s IPO efforts, which had faced regulatory challenges.
Shein's entry into the Hong Kong market is part of its broader strategy to expand its presence and secure funding amid a competitive landscape in the fast-fashion sector.
