Sindh Government Defers Judicial Commission for Mir Raza Murder Case

The Sindh provincial government has decided to defer the establishment of a judicial commission to investigate the murder of Mir Raza Ali. Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar announced the decision on the platform X, stating that the family of the deceased had expressed their confidence in a new police team formed to handle the case.

According to reports, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab had discussions with Ali’s family, who indicated they preferred to allow the newly constituted police team to conduct the investigation rather than pursue a judicial commission.

Initially, a murder charge was added to the first information report (FIR) following a re-postmortem, with Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code being inserted after preliminary findings suggested the need for this legal action, according to The Express Tribune.

However, Jibran Nasir stated that the family had neither requested nor consented to the creation of a judicial commission, which led to the government's decision to put the matter on hold.
