Six Indians on Board Hijacked Cargo Ship Off Somalia
The cargo ship, carrying weapons for Somalia, was hijacked by pirates, including six Indian nationals among its crew.

A cargo ship was hijacked by pirates off the coast of Somalia, carrying weapons intended for a Turkish military training facility in Mogadishu, as well as satellite and communications equipment. The vessel, owned by Polar Movement Shipping, had a crew of ten members, which included six Indians, one Turkish national, one Georgian, and two Serbian security guards.
According to reports, the hijacking incident occurred while the ship was navigating in waters near Somalia. The official statements confirmed the involvement of six Indian nationals among the crew members aboard the hijacked ship.

In a separate incident, two other vessels with a total of 22 Indian nationals onboard were reported hijacked in different locations near Yemen and Somalia. Officials have not disclosed further details regarding these incidents as of now.
The situation underscores ongoing concerns about maritime piracy in the region, which continues to pose risks to commercial shipping and crew safety. The fate of the crew members aboard both hijacked vessels remains uncertain.
