In January 2023, Berlin experienced a widespread power outage that left tens of thousands of households without electricity. As a result of this outage, the state offered support and covered hotel costs for the affected citizens.

According to reports from Der Tagesspiegel and DER SPIEGEL, the total state payments amount to €900,000. This financial assistance is intended to help those impacted manage the difficulties caused by the power interruption.
