On Thursday, August 27, and Friday, August 28, the Letec network is experiencing major disruptions due to a strike notice submitted by the united union front, following a failed regional conciliation. According to information from the public transport company, no buses are operating in Charleroi, while more than 40% of trips are canceled in Namur. In Liège, about one in three trips is canceled on the Liège-Verviers network.

The unions have announced that ongoing disagreements have led to this action, affecting many travelers. Bus services are particularly impacted, with the effect varying by line and region. In the Liège area, nearly half of the trips are also affected by cancellations, causing inconvenience for users.

The strike movement has been widely reported in the media, with several reports on the consequences for workers and students who rely on public transport. Letec has communicated through its website to inform users about the disruptions, highlighting the extent of the situation in Wallonia.

As the strike continues, the unions are demanding negotiations, hoping for a resumption of talks to resolve the tensions. Travelers are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance and to check schedules before traveling.

A return to normal is expected on Saturday, according to estimates. However, the situation remains uncertain and travelers must remain vigilant due to the variable factors affecting the service. Transport unions continue to monitor the implementation of the strike.

This mobilization serves as a reminder of the issues surrounding labor relations in the public transport sector. The united union front hopes for progress in their demands during future discussions.
