Recently, the route of a £430 million underwater electricity cable was altered to preserve the site that Harry Potter fans consider to be the 'grave' of Dobby, a house-elf featured in the saga. This change occurred on Freshwater West beach in Wales, where scenes from the film were filmed.

The original project planned for the cable to pass through this symbolic location, but supporters of the saga challenged the decision, leading to a reconsideration of the route. The new path avoids Dobby's site but comes close to Bronze Age archaeological remains, including urns linked to human burials.

The fans' battle has been described as a significant victory, as they mobilized their efforts to protect an important piece of pop culture connected to the Harry Potter series.
