Swiss athlete Werro wins gold at European Championships 800-meter final
Audrey Werro secures the gold medal in the women's 800-meter final at the athletics European Championships in Birmingham with a championship record.

In the women's 800-meter final at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, Swiss athlete Audrey Werro clinched the gold medal with a time of 1:54.81 minutes. She set a new championship record, although the world record held by Jarmila Kratochvilova from 1983 remained unbroken.
The silver medal went to British Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson, who finished in 1:55.01 minutes. The bronze was awarded to Dutch athlete Femke Broeders-Bol, who achieved a time of 1:55.54 minutes, equaling the national record.
