Sébastien Lecornu, the head of the French government, has requested a comprehensive audit from the National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI) regarding the data theft that impacted the Directorate General of Public Finances (DGFiP). This request follows a significant hacking of the tax administration's systems.

The hacker group ZeroBytes has claimed responsibility for the attack and reportedly sold the stolen data of 678,000 users. In response to this situation, Lecornu chaired an inter-ministerial crisis unit to address this urgent issue.

As part of the measures taken, the government has also announced that it will inform each affected French citizen of the incident as soon as possible. The tax administration specified that a contact process with 350,000 impacted individuals has already begun.

Sébastien Lecornu has also emphasized the importance of accelerating the security plan for the state's information systems to prevent future similar incidents. This hacking highlights the cybersecurity challenges facing the French administration.
