Tensions Rise Between Berlin and Moscow After Leipzig Attacks
Germany accuses Moscow of drone attacks in Leipzig, while Putin counters the allegations as politically motivated.

The German government, led by Chancellor Merz, has declared that Moscow is responsible for the recent drone bomb attacks in Leipzig. In response, the German government announced retaliatory measures against Russia. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen emphasized the need for a united response from the European Union and NATO, underscoring that a Russian operation on European soil cannot be tolerated.
Putin responded by claiming that the German allegations stem from internal political issues, with Chancellor Merz facing difficulties. According to the Russian president, Berlin has no concrete evidence against Moscow.

Von der Leyen discussed this situation with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, highlighting the importance of maintaining pressure on Moscow. Her stance was also supported by Kallas, who reported that she had summoned the Russian ambassador and engaged other European capitals in dialogue regarding security.
Finally, Wadephul referred to the willingness of several European countries to provide interceptors to Kyiv, emphasizing the importance of coordination among European nations in responding to the ongoing crisis.
