Tesla has officially unveiled its latest product, the autonomous taxi Cybercab, in Austin, Texas. The Cybercab does not have a steering wheel or pedals and accommodates two passengers. This presentation marks the first step toward establishing a fleet of robotaxis intended for use in this region. According to the company, Austin is a preferred location for such technological innovations due to favorable regulatory conditions for autonomous vehicles.

The Cybercab will be offered as part of a ride-hailing service. Initial rides are set to take place in selected areas of Austin, although specific details regarding operating hours and zones have not been released yet. The launch occurred at a private, closed event where public statements from CEO Elon Musk were absent.

The market for autonomous vehicles is showing growing interest, and Tesla is positioning itself as a serious player in this sector. Currently, 45 Cybercabs are in operation, introduced as part of a strategy to capture the self-driving taxi market. Tesla's announcements and initial tests aim to build customer confidence in the technology.

Tesla had already presented the concept of the Cybercab nearly two years ago, continuously raising expectations among fans and interested parties. At the official launch, the company emphasized the significance of the technology for the future of driving, though it did not delve into details.

With the launch of the Cybercab, Tesla will enter competition with other companies that already offer established robotaxi services. Primary competitors include Waymo, which has made significant progress in the U.S., having completed over 220 million miles of autonomous rides. Tesla aims to carve out its own market position with the Cybercab and plans to further develop the technology.

Reactions to the launch in Austin have been mixed. While optimistic voices praise Tesla's advances, there are also concerns regarding safety and market acceptance. The initial experiences and feedback from users will be crucial to determine how the market will respond to the new service.
