A government crisis is emerging in Thuringia as nine more members of the BSW faction in the state parliament have announced their departure. This threatens the faction, which had already lost several members, with a further loss of its parliamentary strength.

Previously, three other representatives had left the Sahra Wagenknecht alliance from the faction. According to consistent media reports, these also include all three ministers appointed by the BSW. These developments are intensifying tensions within the alliance.

The background of the dispute lies in differences between the federal association and the state association of the BSW. These discrepancies have apparently led to the numerous departures and are straining the existing coalition.

The blackberry coalition, consisting of BSW, CDU, and SPD, thus faces a significant challenge. The influence of the BSW on the political direction of the coalition could noticeably diminish if the faction continues to weaken.

Currently, it remains unclear what concrete effects the departure of the members could have on the coalition. Political actors are closely monitoring the situation as negotiations within the factions continue.
