Tottenham Hotspur has officially signed Brazilian winger Savinho from Manchester City for an initial fee reported to be £75 million. The transfer, completed on Tuesday, is part of Tottenham's ongoing efforts to strengthen their squad following a challenging season where they finished 17th in the league.

As part of the transfer details, the deal could rise to £85 million with additional performance-related add-ons. This signing signifies Tottenham's commitment to bolstering their roster, bringing their total summer spending to over £300 million. Reports indicate that Savinho will be wearing 'Sávio' on the back of his shirt, indicating a personal rebranding as he embarks on this new chapter of his career.

Savinho's move is notable as it represents a record sale for Manchester City, who initially acquired him from Troyes in 2024 for £30.8 million. The Brazilian winger has expressed his commitment to making an impact in the Premier League after two seasons with City. His arrival at Spurs comes amid a busy transfer window as the club looks to improve its fortunes.

Following the signing of Savinho, also referred to as Sávio, Tottenham's overall spending in the transfer market this window has exceeded £322 million, according to various reports. This includes funds allocated for other signings, reflecting a significant investment strategy by the club's management. The club is aiming to revitalize its squad in light of the previous season's performance.

Different outlets have reported the financial specifics of the deal. Some state the base transfer fee at £75 million with varying amounts suggested for potential add-ons. This variance in reporting highlights the dynamics often seen in high-stakes transfer negotiations in football.

Savinho has joined Tottenham Hotspur during a transformative period for the club, as they look to build a competitive team. The addition of the Brazilian winger is expected to contribute to their forward play as they seek to rebound from last season. The anticipation from fans and analysts alike underscores the significance of this acquisition.
