Trade negotiations: Carney speaks with Trump regarding tariffs

Mark Carney had a "tense" call with Donald Trump about the new tariffs the United States planned to impose. These tariffs, set at 50%, were scheduled to take effect Wednesday at 12:01 AM ET and affected approximately $28 billion worth of Canadian goods.

This dialogue between the two leaders is the second in two days, according to reports. Following these discussions, Washington decided to pause the implementation of the new tariffs until Saturday.
