Tragedy in San Vito Lo Capo: Worker and Rescuer Die from Fumes

Two people died in San Vito Lo Capo from fumes coming from the municipal treatment plant. A worker on-site lost his life due to poisoning from toxic fumes.

According to reports, a paramedic from the 118 emergency service, who responded to revive the worker, became ill during the rescue operation and also died. It is not ruled out that his malaise may have contributed to his death.

Carabinieri arrived at the scene to conduct investigations. The tragedy has raised concern and attention within the local community.
