TRE fines Ricardo Salles for attack on André do Prado

The São Paulo Regional Electoral Court (TRE-SP) fined federal deputy Ricardo Salles (Novo-SP) BRL 10,000. The penalty stems from the dissemination of derogatory content on the internet against state deputy André do Prado (PL).

André do Prado is the president of the São Paulo Legislative Assembly (Alesp) and is also running for the Senate in this year's elections, just like Salles.

According to the TRE-SP, Salles ran negative early election advertising using a manipulated video that discredited André do Prado. The decision was signed by the auxiliary electoral judge Claudia Foncesa Fanucchi.

Deputy Ricardo Salles has the option to appeal the decision, according to the legal procedures provided.
