Donald Trump, the President of the United States, stated on Sunday that he does not want Russia to pull away from negotiations to end the war in Ukraine. In a post on Truth Social, Trump justified his decision to ease some sanctions against Moscow, noting that he seeks to keep Russia engaged in peace talks.

Trump accused Zelensky of not wanting to end the war, saying he 'probably never wanted' to finalize the conflict. These statements came amid rising tensions between Washington and Kiev, where the Ukrainian president also expressed his dissatisfaction with the U.S. stance.

The U.S. president linked Ukraine's recent actions, such as attacks on Russian refineries, to an increase in diesel prices, generating internal criticism of his approach. Some lawmakers, including allies, have voiced their concerns that easing sanctions could strengthen Russia and affect global security.

Meanwhile, Zelensky thanked the United States for resuming intelligence sharing after a pause. This narrative conflict reflects the complexity of relations between the two countries at a critical moment in the war.

Trump's remarks have also coincided with proposals from Vladimir Putin to include China in future discussions about the war, sidelining Ukraine and the European Union from the conversations.

Against this backdrop, the continuation of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia remains uncertain, as disputes over strategy arise between Kiev and its allies, particularly with Washington.
