Trump rejects Iran proposal; media report warnings from Egypt
President Trump confirmed he rejected Tehran's proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, amid Egyptian warnings to Israel.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he has rejected a proposal put forth by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. According to the Iranian plan, the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened within seven days, coupled with a revival of nuclear negotiations.
The news regarding the rejection of the proposal was first reported by the Wall Street Journal, which also mentioned Trump’s intention to resume military operations against Iran after the midterm elections.
Additionally, Egyptian intelligence allegedly warned Israel in the days leading up to October 7, with official Abbas Kamal reportedly traveling to Tel Aviv to recommend concessions to Hamas, in anticipation of possible attacks.

Media reports indicated that Kamal warned that the situation in Gaza could escalate into direct confrontation, a sign that does not appear to have been well received by the Israeli government.
Regarding the entry of UN nuclear inspectors into Iran, Iranian spokesman Pezeshkian confirmed willingness in this regard. However, no details are available concerning any progress in nuclear negotiations.
In summary, Trump's assertion of having rejected the Iranian offer and the recent developments from Egyptian intelligence highlight growing regional tensions, with repercussions for the stability of relations between the involved countries.
