TSE approves deployment of federal forces for elections in five states
The TSE has authorized the dispatch of federal troops to enhance security for the 2026 elections in several locations.

The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) unanimously approved on Thursday morning, the 27th, the deployment of federal forces to ensure security during the first round of the 2026 elections, which will take place on October 4. This measure aims to bolster security infrastructure in various locations.
The federal troops will operate in more than 60 cities in Ceará, including the capital Fortaleza, as detailed in information from g1. In total, 66 municipalities in Ceará will receive this support, according to the request from the Regional Electoral Court of Ceará.
In addition to Ceará, the TSE's approval also includes the sending of federal forces to the states of Acre, Piauí, Rio de Janeiro, and Tocantins. Federal action will be particularly concentrated in Rio Branco, the capital of Acre, and in hard-to-reach areas of the state, as reported by Agência Brasil.

The TSE's decision was a response to concerns about security in the electoral process, with the intention to ensure that voting and vote counting are conducted smoothly and in an orderly manner.
The TSE emphasized that this measure is part of a larger effort to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process in all affected regions, ensuring that elections take place without incidents.
The support from federal forces extends to various locations, reflecting the authorities' concern for the safety of voters and the normalcy of the elections during a period of potential political tension. The TSE reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a safe environment for voting.
