In Lower Austria, the wrecks of two former German artillery barges have become visible due to low water levels. These ships were shelled by the USA at the end of World War II and subsequently scuttled by their own crews. The visibility of the ships is a result of the currently low water levels in the Danube, which have brought the remains to the surface.

According to reports from Presse and STANDARD, one location of these newly visible wrecks is near Ardagger. The ships, protruding from the water, draw attention to the history of these naval vessels and their fate during the war.
