President Donald Trump announced a 90-day extension of the Jones Act exemption, which allows foreign-flagged ships to transport oil and other commodities between ports in the United States. This decision was reported by the White House.

However, the extension comes with new limits, after shipbuilders expressed concerns that the policy was harming the domestic maritime sector.
