The United States Armed Forces announced the destruction of five Iranian tankers as retaliation for recent missile attacks launched by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) against an American warship. The attacks occurred over the past two days, with the missiles hitting the US military vessel in regional waters.

According to reports from various sources, the destruction of the tankers was confirmed by US Central Command, which published images of the attack. The vessels were described as linked to IRGC operations, highlighting the increasing tension between the two countries.

The decision to target the tankers comes after the IRGC's attempts to strike a US warship, which escalated hostilities in the region, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for oil transportation.

Iranian sources reported explosions on Kharg Island, an important oil export location for Iran, while the US continued to warn that the destruction of ships would persist in response to any further attacks.

The Iranian government condemned the US attacks, labeling them an act of aggression. Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that these actions pose a threat to regional and international security, creating an environment ripe for further escalation.

So far, no human casualties have been reported from the operations, but the situation remains tense, with Iran promising retaliation and warning its allies about potential new bombings following the American strikes.
