The interim President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, announced on Saturday the activation of the Civil Protection system in response to heavy rains that have affected various areas of the country. The intense storms resulted in serious damage in the capital, Caracas, and the neighboring state of Miranda.

According to reports, the rains have caused significant flooding, including the inundation of highways, particularly in the Río Valle region. The critical situation prompted authorities to implement emergency measures to protect citizens and mitigate the impacts of natural disasters.

The heavy rains that struck Venezuela also had tragic consequences. Last week, two children died due to flooding, an event that shocked the population and heightened the urgency of the government's response.

The Venezuelan government, through the Civil Protection system, is coordinating efforts to address the needs of the affected communities. Local authorities are working to ensure citizens' safety and assess the extent of the damage caused by the rains.

Rodríguez emphasized the importance of mobilizing resources and supporting the hardest-hit areas. Interventions are focused on ensuring that emergency services are prepared to act in any crisis situation that may worsen due to weather conditions.

In addition to the flooding, authorities are monitoring the weather situation to prepare or adapt emergency actions as needed. The forecast for weather conditions in the coming days remains a central concern for the government.
