Venezuela finds sanction easing insufficient and demands complete lifting
Venezuelan Minister of Petroleum, Paula Henao, called for the total cessation of sanctions following an energy agreement with the U.S., arguing the current relief is not enough.

Paula Henao, Venezuela's Minister of Petroleum, stated on Thursday that the easing of sanctions imposed by the United States is inadequate. This came after a rapprochement between the two countries and a recent agreement in the energy sector.
During an interview, Henao emphasized that while there is openness to new investments, the current measures do not meet the needs of the country's oil sector.
The official stressed the importance of completely eliminating sanctions to advance Venezuela's energy development. The request for a total cessation of sanctions comes nearly a week after the announcement of a historic oil agreement between Caracas and Washington.

This agreement aims to improve the energy relationship between the two countries, focusing on the oil sector and investment in natural resources.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that Washington has begun to ease its sanction regime in the oil, mining, and public financial sectors, although this has been deemed insufficient by Venezuelan authorities.
