Vooruit expels Jinnih Beels from the party, but she refuses to return her mandate
The party Vooruit has expelled Jinnih Beels due to disloyal behavior, which Beels disputes and challenges.

The party Vooruit has announced that its collaboration with Jinnih Beels has been terminated following repeated complaints about her disloyal behavior. This was confirmed by several media outlets and a press release from the party.
Vooruit chairman Conner Rousseau pointed out that Beels, who has not been attending party meetings and was not always present at provincial meetings, could no longer continue as part of the party. "Principles above posts," Rousseau stated.
Beels expressed her surprise at the decision from Vooruit. In the VRT program 'Terzake,' she indicated that she does not plan to return her provincial mandate to the party and declared, "I'm not stepping down because of my big mouth."

The situation surrounding Beels comes after years of tension within the party and her role as an alderman in the Antwerp provincial council. She will now continue independently in the provincial council, meaning she will no longer occupy a seat on behalf of Vooruit.
Discontent has arisen within the party due to her behavior, and collaboration was deemed no longer possible. Beels claims this came as a surprise to her, and she remains determined to stay active in politics.
According to Beels, there is also a personal vendetta from Rousseau, who, she suggests, aims to settle a political score by expelling her from the party. These comments were included in her reactions following the announcement of the termination of the collaboration.
