Woman (22) arrested with 51 kilos of cocaine at Zaventem airport

A 22-year-old woman from Anderlecht in Brussels was arrested in the baggage claim area of Zaventem airport. Customs discovered 51 kilograms of cocaine hidden in two suitcases she had with her.

According to VRT NWS, the woman was attempting to smuggle the drugs out of the airport. She was caught as she was not a passenger on any flight, which made her presence in the terminal suspicious.

It remains unclear how the woman ended up in the baggage area and whether she had assistance in her attempt to smuggle the cocaine. The news has been confirmed by Het Laatste Nieuws.
