Yandex data center in Sasovo affected by drone attack

A Yandex data center located on the premises of the "Sasta" machine engineering plant in Sasovo experienced an incident that disrupted the company's infrastructure. According to press reports, Yandex confirmed that the incident was due to a drone attack, which resulted in a fire at the data center. The situation is currently being monitored by the company's management and is under control.

The Ukrainian armed forces are believed to have initiated the incident with a targeted attack on the Yandex data center. Experts from the organization Exilenova+ reported that the drone strike led to the destruction of critical infrastructure, causing Yandex's services to be partially unavailable.

The first confirmation of the fire and attack came through the Telegram channel ASTRA, which documented that critical components of Yandex's infrastructure were affected by the blaze. However, efforts are being made to restore operations through firefighting efforts.

One report indicated that the data center was completely taken offline following the attack. Yandex stated that some of its services may no longer be accessible to users while the company works on addressing the damage.

A number of media outlets, including Meduza and CNews, reported that Yandex is seen as a target of attacks on Russian infrastructure. Experts pointed out that this attack is one of the first of its kind on Yandex and could indicate an escalation in the dynamics of the conflict.
