Een bosbrand is uitgebroken in het zuidwesten van Spanje, nabij de plaats Niebla, wat heeft geleid tot de vernietiging van 4.000 hectare grond. De brand wordt aangewakkerd door harde wind die tussen de 40 en 50 kilometer per uur waait, wat de situatie ter plaatse verergert.
De autoriteiten hebben meer dan 500 mensen gemobiliseerd om de brand te bestrijden. Onder hen zijn 250 leden van de militaire noodhulp die zijn ingezet om te helpen bij de blusacties.
Volgens berichten heeft de brand geleid tot de preventieve evacuatie van ongeveer 470 mensen die in de nabijheid van het getroffen gebied wonen. Deze maatregelen zijn genomen om de veiligheid van de bewoners te waarborgen in het licht van het dreigende gevaar door het vuur.

De brand bevindt zich in de Andalusische provincie Huelva, ongeveer 70 kilometer van de zuidgrens met Portugal. De weersomstandigheden, vooral de kracht van de wind, blijven een significante uitdaging vormen voor de hulpverleners.
