In 2025, 350 humanitarian workers died worldwide, according to the 'Aid Worker Security Database'. This database tracks incidents of violence against humanitarian personnel.

Of the 350 workers killed, 186 were reported in the Gaza Strip. In Sudan, 71 workers lost their lives. This makes the Gaza Strip particularly deadly for humanitarian operations in conflict zones.

The overwhelming majority of the fatalities, namely 99 percent, are local staff. These figures highlight the risks faced by humanitarian workers in conflict-ridden areas.
