A new heatwave is arriving in Italy
A 'heat dome' will bring temperatures up to 12 degrees above average, but the North will be spared the most intense phase.

A new heatwave is set to hit Italy, with temperatures predicted to soar up to 12 degrees above average. According to forecasts, the peak of this heatwave is expected to occur between August 27 and 29.
This marks the fifth heatwave of the summer and, according to various sources, it will be one of the most intense. However, it seems that it won’t last long, with an improvement expected in the latter part of the weekend.
The high temperatures will not only be influenced by atmospheric values but also by sea temperatures, which prevent the land from cooling down. According to the monthly forecasts by the Italian Air Force, September is also expected to be warm, with temperatures above average.

The subtropical high pressure system will be responsible for the new rise in temperatures, but not all regions will experience the same intensity of heat. While the Centre-South is expected to face scorching weather, the North may witness isolated thunderstorms.
After a brief period of instability affecting some regions in the North and parts of the Centre, weather conditions are changing, with a clear gap in the expected events. The cities most affected by the intense heat will be specific locations in the Centre-South, in contrast to the situation in the North.
By the end of the week, experts anticipate a stabilization of weather conditions, but not without an initial marked increase in temperatures across many areas of the country.
