Additional Federal States Send Police to Vienna to Combat Youth Crime

The Austrian capital, Vienna, will receive additional police officers from Salzburg and Carinthia starting in September to combat youth crime. This comes from an order to the state police directorates, which was obtained by APA. Previously, police officers from Styria, Burgenland, Lower Austria, and Upper Austria have been deployed in Vienna since August.

The reason for the increase in police forces is cited as the "concentrated presence of migrant youth groups." The Federal Police Directorate has decided to expand the deployment in order to better address the challenges in the capital.

The dispatched officers will undertake their duties on a voluntary basis. The Vienna police have already adjusted and intensified their focus in measures against youth crime.
