The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated a red alert for torrential rain in the provinces of Castellón, Valencia, and Tarragona. According to meteorologist Rubén del Campo, the precipitation will be very intense, abundant, and occur over a short period, posing an extraordinary risk to this region.

Orange alerts have also been issued in Lleida, the interior of Tarragona, Teruel, the Cuenca mountains, as well as in the communities of Murcia and Alicante. The weather conditions are severe, with heavy rain and storms expected in various areas of eastern Spain.

The orange alert was activated at 2:00 PM and escalated to red at 6:00 PM. Authorities have urged citizens to take precautions and avoid unnecessary travel in the affected areas.

The Valencian Generalitat has issued an Es-Alert, recommending that the population stay away from ravines and move to upper floors if water levels rise. These measures aim to ensure the safety of citizens in light of the impending heavy rain.

In addition to the mentioned provinces, the communities of Aragón, the Balearic Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, and Catalonia are also on alert due to the effects of storms caused by these adverse weather conditions.

Lastly, meteorological authorities noted that although this is not a cut-off low or a named storm, similar magnitude storms are expected that could prove equally dangerous. The situation is being monitored to ensure a swift response to any eventuality.
