On Tuesday, the Spanish government evaluated the possibility of mediating in the Airbus strike, which intensified after a meeting between the unions and company management ended without agreement. According to several sources, the situation was described as "critical" by the company, leading to increased tension between the parties involved.

In this context, the deputy of the Ministry of Industry indicated that the government would "surely" have to "intervene" in the conflict if no pact was reached to end the strike, although he expressed confidence that this would not be necessary.

However, the dynamics changed when the government conducted a mediation, resulting in an urgent meeting at the Ministry of Industry and Tourism. During this meeting, which took place after the closure of the second mediation table before the Mediation and Arbitration System (SIMA), a preliminary agreement was reached between Airbus and the major unions.

This preliminary agreement was subsequently announced by various media, which indicated that the meeting was attended by the Minister of Industry, Jordi Hereu, and Airbus's CEO, Guillaume Faury. The duration of the meeting was brief, lasting approximately an hour and a half, which allowed for the resumption of negotiations that had previously been deemed broken.

As a result of this mediation, it was agreed that the workers would vote in a referendum on the preliminary agreement during the course of this month. This vote will represent a decisive instance to determine whether the proposed solutions meet the employees' demands and successfully end the labor conflict.

The information has been reported by various sources, including El País and 20minutos, which have closely followed the development of the situation at Airbus, highlighting the government's actions in the mediation process and the potential effects on the workers' labor conditions.
