Amazon to Expand Drone Delivery Service to Nearly 500 U.S. Cities
Amazon plans to significantly increase its drone delivery service to cover nearly 500 cities across the United States by the end of this year.

Amazon has announced plans to expand its drone delivery service to nearly 500 cities and towns in the United States, aiming to increase its delivery coverage sixfold compared to its current footprint. The company intends to enhance its service capabilities by targeting one million deliveries within this year, supported by a recent regulatory approval that allows for longer-range deliveries of lightweight packages.
The expansion will enable millions more customers to receive their smaller packages via drones, particularly in suburban areas. Locations identified for new Prime Air deliveries include Chicago, Illinois; Syracuse, New York; Cleveland, Ohio; Atlanta, Georgia; and Boise, Idaho.

This initiative reflects Amazon's ongoing efforts to innovate and improve its delivery logistics through aerial transportation. With the regulatory greenlight, the company is poised to broaden its reach and meet growing customer demands more efficiently.
As the rollout progresses, it remains to be seen how effectively the service will operate across the various planned locations and how customers will respond to the drone delivery experience.
