The public prosecutor’s office in Antwerp has opened a criminal investigation into a couple subletting properties via Airbnb. The tenants, Robert-Jan R. and Nathalie H., allegedly disadvantaged landlords by subletting the properties while often failing to pay their own rent.
According to the information, the property owners are left with thousands of euros in unpaid rent and, in some cases, also with damage to their properties.
