Attack on Riyadh Airport Leaves at Least 12 Dead and Over 300 Injured
The attack on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport is one of the deadliest in Saudi Arabia in recent years.

A devastating attack took place at King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh on Saturday, causing at least 12 deaths and over 300 injuries, according to the General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia (GACA). Among the deceased are four Saudi citizens and eight foreigners, including an American, an Egyptian, a Jordanian, a Palestinian, a Sudanese, a Syrian, and two Bangladeshis, authorities reported.
The attack coincided with heightened tensions in the region and has been attributed to Houthi rebels from Yemen. GACA described the incident as part of a series of ongoing assaults targeting civil aviation facilities in the Kingdom.
Operations at the airport were temporarily suspended while damage assessments were conducted, and multiple ambulances were seen arriving at the scene to assist the injured. Many of the wounded are reported to be in critical condition, according to local hospitals overwhelmed by the number of victims.

This attack has been labeled the deadliest in Saudi Arabia in over a decade. Saudi authorities reported that survivors suffered a range of serious injuries, and some hospitals began treating the affected shortly after the incident.
There have also been international reactions to the rising violence in the region. Embassies of several Western countries warned their personnel to avoid the airport area due to security concerns. Meanwhile, aviation authorities have been working to restore normalcy, although the situation remains tense.
This event adds to a series of recent attacks that have raised alarms both domestically and internationally, reflecting an escalating conflict that continues to wreak havoc on the security of Saudi Arabia and civilian life. Global reactions have included condemnations of the violence and calls for calm.
