Today, at the 27th Spanish Ornithology Congress - 8th Iberian Congress, the Avotrex database was unveiled, designed to quantify bird extinctions attributed to human activity. The event, taking place in Granada, gathers over 400 researchers from Portugal and Spain.

The Avotrex database aims to systematize and analyze information on bird extinctions, facilitating a better understanding of the human impact on avian species. This initiative involves collaboration from ornithologists and area specialists.

The congress seeks to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences among the attending researchers, addressing various themes related to ornithology and conservation, emphasizing the importance of research into birds and their threats.
