Azores hire 108 operational assistants for schools
The hiring includes 48 permanent assistants and 60 temporary ones, effective September 1.

The Regional Secretariat for Education, Culture and Sports of the Azores announced the hiring of 108 operational assistants for the start of the 2026/2027 school year. The placements, which will take effect on September 1, have been made through the Island Fund, a mechanism created by the Regional Government to address the needs of schools.
Of these 108 assistants, 48 will have permanent contracts, while 60 will be hired on a temporary basis. This measure aims to strengthen support in the region's schools, as reported.

The decision to reinforce school teams comes in the context of preparations for the new academic year and aims to ensure the proper functioning of educational institutions.
This announcement was confirmed recently, with the expectation that the new hires will help improve the school environment and management of schools in the Azores.
