Building collapse in Gaza kills many, rescue operations underway

A building in Gaza has collapsed, causing at least 11 deaths, including five children. Rescue operations are ongoing, with the Palestinian Civil Defense reporting that at least 50 children may still be trapped under the rubble.

The building, previously damaged by Israeli bombings, housed around 100 displaced Palestinians. During the rescue efforts, five minors have already been found dead.

Rescue workers have stated that the operations are complicated by a lack of heavy equipment, as the IDF does not allow bulldozers and excavators into the Gaza Strip. Dozens of people are missing.

Immediately after the collapse, the Civil Defense warned that about 2,000 buildings in the area are structurally unsafe and could pose further risks to residents.

As recovery efforts continue, the situation in the region remains critical, with emergency services working under difficult conditions and many families worried about their loved ones who are trapped.
