BUND criticizes Transportation Minister Bilger's plans for drought management

The environmental organization BUND has criticized the plans by Federal Minister of Transportation Bilger for managing the ongoing drought as insufficient. According to BUND Chairman Bandt, the announced measures demonstrate that the government has failed to recognize that low river levels are a symptom of the climate crisis. He expressed this criticism in an interview with the 'Rheinische Post'.

In contrast, the industrial association BDI has expressed support for Bilger's approaches. While the environmental organization is concerned about the impacts of drought, the industrial association clearly backs the minister's plans, viewing them as a suitable response to the current challenges.
