In the Bundesliga, Hamburger SV faced a heavy defeat against 1. FSV Mainz 05 on the second matchday. The home game ended with a clear 0-5. Following this loss, Hamburg remains without a point at the bottom of the table.

The Hanseatic team, which struggled last season to avoid relegation, was unable to make any impact against the Rheinhessen. In contrast, Mainz 05 appears to be in good form, securing the victory with confidence.

In a parallel match, Eintracht Frankfurt lost 1-4 to FC Augsburg. Frankfurt initially took the lead, but Augsburg turned the game around in their favor after halftime.

With the win against Frankfurt, Augsburg has climbed to the top of the table, while Hamburg is now in urgent need of points to escape the relegation zone.
