The Bombay High Court has ordered the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over the investigation of Disha Salian's death. The directive comes in response to a petition filed by Satish Salian, the father of Disha Salian, who has alleged shortcomings in the investigation conducted by the Mumbai Police since her death in June 2020.

In its ruling, the court emphasized that no individual can be considered an accused unless there is sufficient material to support such a claim. The CBI has been instructed to register a First Information Report (FIR) and to record statements from key individuals, including the deceased's father, as part of the ongoing investigation.

Following the order, the Mumbai Police are required to transfer all relevant case records to the CBI. This move is seen as a significant step towards addressing the concerns raised by Salian's family regarding the handling of the case by local authorities.

The issue gained increased public attention partly due to Disha Salian's previous association with actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who himself passed away shortly after her death. Speculation surrounding the connections between both cases has fueled ongoing discussions in media outlets and among the public.

As the CBI begins its investigation, many await to see how the new inquiry will unfold and whether it will yield different results than those provided by the Mumbai Police. No specific timeline for the investigation has been shared.
