The Ombudsman has initiated an investigation into P60 billion worth of flood projects in Cebu, questioning the effectiveness of the spending as flooding continues to be a recurring issue. This inquiry comes amidst growing concerns over the management and execution of flood control measures in the region.

In Taguig City, the fishers’ group Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (Pamalakaya) is urging a probe into reclamation projects in Laguna de Bay. They allege that these projects, inaccurately labeled as flood control measures, have displaced local communities and endangered the ecosystem of the lake.
