The Central Bank of Brazil (BC) is currently negotiating to link the instant payment system Pix with TIPS, the European payment platform. The discussions are at a preliminary stage, according to information provided by the European Central Bank (ECB).

The ECB revealed that the analyses for integrating Pix into its system are in the early stages, and this interaction could facilitate transactions for Brazilians making purchases in Europe.

With this integration, Brazilians would be able to make payments on card machines in Europe using bank accounts in Brazil. This measure aims to expand the usability of the Pix system beyond Brazilian borders.

The negotiations have been included in the ECB's work schedule, although there is no defined timeline for the completion of the studies or the implementation of the project.
