China evacuates areas of Tibet due to risk of lake breach after flood
The lake contains about two million cubic meters of water and poses a danger near the Nepal border.

Chinese authorities have begun evacuating areas in Tibet due to the risk of breach from a lake formed after a landslide in Nepal. This lake, located near the confluence of a river from Nepal and another in Tibet, contained approximately two million cubic meters of water, raising concerns about potential flooding in the region.
The lake has become a serious threat, and recent rains have increased fears of a possible second flood. The rains have fed several natural blockages in the area, which could worsen the situation if the lake breaches.

As a result of the adverse weather conditions, at least 478 fatalities have been reported in Nepal due to the flood-related disaster, while more than 1,500 people remain missing in the region.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation to prevent a larger tragedy, and the evacuation of residents aims to avert any further disaster in the affected areas. The risk posed by the lake remains a priority for the governments of Nepal and China.
