A chlorine gas leak at the Godhani water treatment plant in Nagpur hospitalized several individuals, with emergency responders managing the incident.

A chlorine gas leak occurred at the Godhani water treatment plant in Nagpur early on a recent morning, resulting in multiple hospitalizations. According to reports from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, the leak originated from a 900-kg capacity chlorine gas cylinder around 1 a.m., affecting local residents.
Fifty-six individuals were reported hospitalized, with eight currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Reports indicate that twelve of those hospitalized have since been discharged after receiving treatment for breathing issues, while health teams are conducting door-to-door inspections to check for delayed symptoms in the community.
