Closure on General David Sarnoff Avenue in Contagem

General David Sarnoff Avenue in Greater Belo Horizonte will be closed starting today, impacting traffic and public transport.

Starting today, August 10, a segment of the access road on General David Sarnoff Avenue, located in the Industrial City of Contagem, will be closed. The closure will take place between Babita Camargos Avenue and Marechal Castelo Branco Avenue, heading towards the Eldorado neighborhood, and will commence at 9 a.m.

The City Hall of Contagem announced that the closure aims to allow construction work by the Consórcio DER Bacias, which will be responsible for the necessary relocations in the area. These works are part of a larger project, and the closure is essential to ensure the safety of workers and road users.

In addition to the closure, several lines of the municipal public transport will have their routes changed. Details of the alterations have not yet been fully disclosed, but the public is being advised to check information with local public transport to avoid inconveniences.

Motorists and public transport users are advised to plan their routes in advance. The measure is temporary but may cause congestion and delays during the construction period, which has not yet been specified regarding its duration.

The closure and the relocation of the routes are part of an effort by the City Hall to improve infrastructure in the region. Despite potential difficulties, the works aim to bring long-term benefits.

Local authorities will provide updates during the process and encourage the community to follow the instructions published on social media and through communication channels to minimize inconveniences.
