On Monday, Colombia was hit by a powerful earthquake measured at a magnitude of 6.6 by the Colombian Geological Service. The tremors were particularly felt in the capital, Bogotá, and the city of Cali.
Witnesses also reported that the vibrations were perceived as far as the border with Venezuela, while cities like Quito in Ecuador and areas in Panama experienced similar sensations.
Local authorities continue to assess potential damage, but no immediate information on casualties or significant damages has been confirmed.
