Corinthians defeated Rosario Central 1-0 on Thursday night (20) at the Neo Química Arena in São Paulo in a match valid for the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. The game was marked by the return of Dutch striker Memphis Depay to the team, who contributed to the club's victory.

During the match, Corinthians faced the challenge of playing with one less player due to the expulsion of midfielder Raniele. Despite the numerical disadvantage, the team managed to maintain their lead in the game and secure a place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

The only goal of the match was scored by Corinthians, thus ensuring the victory and qualification. This result is significant as it represents the first time since 2022 that the club has advanced to the next stage of the international tournament.

With this victory, Corinthians will face Estudiantes de La Plata in the next round, another Argentine club that qualified for the quarter-finals. The expectation now is on Corinthians' performance against a well-known rival in Argentine football.

Thursday's game also marked an important return for Memphis Depay, who played in a Corinthians shirt again following his signing. His performance helped boost the team's confidence on the field, contributing to their victory.

Corinthians' qualification joins that of other Brazilian clubs, such as Flamengo and Palmeiras, which also advanced in the Libertadores, intensifying the competition for the title. The quarter-finals promise to be exciting, featuring strong teams in the running.
