The Administrative and Fiscal Court of Porto has decided to suspend the public auction of Mercado do Bolhão. This decision follows a precautionary measure filed in late July by a traders' association, ACTBA, which challenges the contracts that moved forward with this process.

Pedro Duarte, the president of the municipal council, characterized the situation as a "normal procedure." Porto City Hall intends to legally respond to the issues raised by the traders' association, according to information released.

The public auction, scheduled for July, aimed to sell spaces in Mercado do Bolhão. The court's decision to suspend this process raises questions about the future management of the market and the city council's plans for it.

The ACTBA, which filed the precautionary measure, is contesting the conditions and the legality of the public auction process. The association argues that the procedure could jeopardize the interests of existing traders in the market.

With the public auction suspended, the situation at Mercado do Bolhão remains uncertain as those involved await developments regarding the legal response from Porto City Hall.
