Crans: Swiss prosecutor rejects Italy's request to be recognized as a civil party
Switzerland has denied Italy's request to be recognized as a civil party in the Crans-Montana fire investigation.

The prosecutor's office in Sion, in the Valais canton, has rejected Italy's request to be recognized as a civil party in the investigation related to the Crans-Montana fire. The prosecutors stated that the costs incurred to assist the victims are not sufficient to confer the status of an injured party.
In response, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced its intention to appeal the Swiss prosecutor's decision, contesting the arguments expressed by the judge, which they believe are not shared and outdated.
